Job description:

1. Accounting Operations & Financial Close

– Organize and control monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting closing processes.
– Review and ensure the accuracy of key accounting items, including revenue, cost of goods sold, expenses, receivables/payables, inventory, fixed assets, financial investments, loans and finance costs, taxes, provisions, equity, and related-party transactions.
– Reconcile balances and intercompany transactions between the Parent Company and subsidiaries.
– Prepare and control consolidation entries, including intercompany eliminations, unrealized profit adjustments, investments in subsidiaries, non-controlling interests, and other consolidation adjustments.
– Ensure consistency in accounting policies, chart of accounts, and recognition principles across entities.

2. Financial & Tax Reporting

– Prepare, review, and take responsibility for the Parent Company’s standalone financial statements.
– Control tax declarations, tax finalization, and tax compliance, including VAT, CIT, PIT, withholding tax, related-party transactions, and other applicable taxes.
– Identify, assess, and proactively communicate accounting and tax risks.
– Prepare and analyze management reports for the CFO, Executive Management, and Board of Directors, covering revenue, profit, Actual vs. Budget, costs, margins, EBITDA, cash flow, receivables/payables, inventory, working capital, CAPEX, and business performance by subsidiary/business segment.

3. Financial Planning, Budget & Cost Management

– Analyze variances, identify unusual items and risks, and recommend appropriate solutions.
– Monitor and address issues raised in Management Letters.
– Propose improvements to accounting processes, reporting systems, ERP, and automation.

4. External Stakeholder Management

– Work directly with independent auditors on standalone and consolidated financial statements.
– Coordinate the preparation of supporting documents and explanations for tax authorities, government agencies, and other relevant parties.
– Work with relevant stakeholders on accounting and financial matters as directed.

5. Provide strategic advice to the Management on financial strategy, investment, and risk management.

6. Team Management & Development

– Manage, assign, supervise, and train the accounting team within the assigned scope.
– Review and approve documents, records, and reports within the scope of responsibility.
– Perform other professional duties as assigned by the CFO and Executive Management.
– Participate in recruitment assessments and develop appropriate training plans based on individual employee capabilities.

Job requirement:

1. Education & Experience

– Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or a related field.
– Chief Accountant Certificate required; CPA Vietnam, ACCA, CPA Australia, or equivalent certification is preferred.
– At least 12 years of experience in accounting/auditing, including a minimum of 5 years in a Chief Accountant, Accounting Manager, or equivalent senior auditing position.
– Direct experience in preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements and working with independent auditors is required.
– Experience with Big 4 firms, listed/public companies, multi-subsidiary groups, or manufacturing companies is preferred.

2. Professional Knowledge

– Strong knowledge of Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS) and the Vietnamese accounting regime for enterprises.
– Expertise in preparing standalone and consolidated financial statements.
– Knowledge of intercompany transactions and balances, accounting for subsidiaries and associates, and non-controlling interests.
– Good understanding of VAT, CIT, PIT, withholding tax, and related-party transactions.
– Understanding of financial statement audit processes, closing, and reconciliation.
– Knowledge of IFRS is preferred.

3. Skills

– Ability to independently prepare, review, and explain financial statements.
– Ability to directly prepare consolidated financial statements.
– Strong ability to analyze Trial Balances and identify unusual or irregular figures.
– Advanced Excel proficiency; experience with Power Query, Power BI, and ERP systems is preferred.
– Strong team management, task delegation, and work control skills.
– Ability to effectively coordinate with multiple departments and subsidiaries.
– Ability to work under high pressure during financial closing, audit, and financial reporting periods.
